Blog candy alert

Just spotted some blog candy being offered over on Pink Delight Craft, also some lovely projects for you to see as well from Nicola.

Anniversary card for my Sister. xx

At last I have completed some more crafting!! I have been collecting some more stash, this happens on an all to regular basis, I seem to find the time to shop then run out of time to actually craft. This needs sorting :)

I have had the promarkers out to colour this stamp that I purchased from Lili of the Valley. I did not have many stamps to choose from for anniversary cards or get well cards so I had this one which was part of a set that included a get well, wedding, baby and some word stamps. The mat to the stamped image I coloured with distress inks and them stamped a background to tone in with the base card stock.

Closing Ceremony

I was so excited to be able to go to the closing ceremony of the Paralympics. It was fabulous there was lots to see and the atmosphere was wonderful. So much was happening and the lovely people I sat next to kept pointing things out and then I would see something and point that out. Dean being Dean had to nip off for a drink and then again, off to the loo! I did not want to leave my seat for fear of missing something. Amazing just does not cover it. The whole olympics has been wonderful and I did have tears when the flame went out and when we were part of those last lot of fire works.

Fabric project folder with pockets

This we made for my sister although she got it 3 months after her birthday! I went to make her this for her birthday and my sewing machine did not work correctly. The tension went all wrong, and I could not adjust it. I was gutted as I had got all excited about sewing again. I was not able to take the machine to a repairer until a few weeks later as Dean was not well and I was up to my neck at work. It went in for a service and came out working fine. Then Dean had his bypass and all the excitment about sewing went out of the window. I booked two weeks off work for the olympics and used this time to do some crafting while I wtched loads of sport. So my sister eventually got her gift. I added some ribbons wound on to bobbins.

London 2012 Olympics

We were very luck to get tickets to the games. We went on the 7th for a morning session. No medals for the morning sesssions but we got to see qualifications or round 1 sessions for Men's 200m, Men's triple jump, women's 5000m men's 110m hurdles and women's javelin.

Firstly the organisation was brilliant, London transport had it all under control, we did feel like sheep being hurded around but we were lucky enough to be kept walking all the time and the trains were fast and regular. The security checks were very fast. We had followed the instructions and arrived two hours befor the session and were in the stadium in very good time, but I would rather it had been like that than have been rushing.

It soon filled up!

The atmosphere was fabulous. I got to do my first mexican wave! Sad I know but I don't usually do these large crowd shows etc. The sound of the cheering followed any runners round the track, you could here the sound approaching you as the runners got closer, it was amazing!

We also got to see Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake Qualify for the 200m. Dean managed to get the pose!

I can not wait to tell the story on scrapbook pages, just got to get myself motivated to sit and do them.

Couple of movie clips that I took to show some of the atmosphere.

Female birthday card

Another card made for a friend, I got to use some of my new fancy frame dies and edge punches. It is also the first time I have used the stamp that I have put the happy birthday on.

Baby Boy card

Kate at work wanted a baby boy card and this gave me the chance of using some new stamps. I love all the bunting stamps and punches that are available at the monment I can not wait to use some on scrapbook pages.

Male Birthday Card

I did not know what sort of card to make for my nephew James this year but I wanted to try something different. This is my first round card and I thought as it rocks I would use a stamp of a ship, swirly paper and a zig zag ribbon to help with the water theme. As his birthday is in Jubilee and Olympic year I though I would add a union flag birthday greeting.

Ashleys birthday

Off we all went to Nene valley Railway for a trip on Ashley's third birthday this was the engine that was pulling on that day. I am not a railway buff but Ashley may be interested one day!
He enjoyed the day as we all did. We went though a tunnel and the lights did not work in the carriage and it was pitch black, i aimed the camera at were I thought Ashley was and took a photo, as you can see he gripped his mums arm in shock but was not like some of the youngsters that were crying in the dark!

Me and my sister. I will have to do something about my spare tyres grrrr!!

He liked his new road drill!

Scrapbook calendar

My sister found a 12x12 scrapbook calendar. You decorate the top page and the bottom page is the calendar page. At the end of the month you take off your page and file it in your album. Amanda had hers done on time, and I am on catch up. Well I have done January and February, just need to do March now, before March actually statrts!! Looking through my PC I do not do much in March, as I can not find any decent photos taken in March for the last 5 years!! May be March is my hibernation month. Here are the first two pages.

Card for Baby Iris

This card was for my work mate who had a lovely baby girl a few weeks ago. She called her Iris Lilly, I could not make an iris out of paper, but I could make a lily type creation so made those for the top of an exploding box card. All those at work signed squares and these were added to one of the layers of the box.

Christmas cards

I had to use my banner punch and stamps to make a batch of Christmas cards. Stamp it up has some lovely bits and bobs and the quality is great, you get what you pay for.

Birthday card

It had to be pink for my neice Lucy, this was for her birthday in November 2011. I wanted to use my new stamps and punch from stamp it up to make the banner, and a bit of colouring with my pro markers.
